To journal the musings of this old man as he continues on in his winding life's journey. While I am sure to discuss my family and mundane daily matters, my emphasis in these frequently nocturnal ramblings will tend to be on the spiritual. I am a conservative Christian, but I hope not a stereotypical WASP, striving to allow God to be the master of all that I am, with my role being the janitor or the caretaker.
At this point in my journey I am exploring some of the historic practices of prayer and meditation which are regaining interest today. Another current interest is in those movements within evangelical Christian fellowships that are actively seeking new ways of "doing church".
You are invited along as I ponder these things and attempt to walk the good walk. =============================================
I am just another confused man looking for the answers of life.
I have been a poor follower of Christ throughout much of my life. I still struggle minute by minute with allowing the Holy Spirit to direct me. I also find it difficult to commit a part of each day to maintaining a relationship with him. I am a Type A personality who remains unable to really comprehend prayer, but nevertheless prays out of faith.
I came to know My Lord while in my mid teens, my walk with Him has been anything but consistent. Between then and now I have been involved in many more ungodly activities, and taken many more missteps, than I like to remember or admit. My first carrier was as an Army Intelligence Analyst. After 20 plus years I retired at the grade of 1SG. The next 25 or so years were spent working in the electronic service industry as a technician, a manager, an electronics instructor, and ending as a security consultant. A few years ago I retired due to health issues. Now I only do what I find educational and fun which has included the building of websites and researching things of interest on the internet.
